This is worth mentioning that 17th October, 2011 is the birthday of great legendary reformer and educationist Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Contributions of this man are of historic nature and have tremendous effects on Muslim’s mindset. He is no doubt pioneer of ideological struggle for the Muslims of India which culminated in creation of a homeland for them, where they were living in majority. He was the first ever scholar who challenged the outdated orthodoxy in Muslim mindset.

University of Gujrat feels an honor that Sir Syed had called the land of Gujrat as “Khita-e-Yunan” of the subcontinent India. This University is putting its best efforts to uphold this quotation. Center for History, I.R and Political Science is going to hold a seminar on “Sir Syed Ahmed Khan: A Charismatic Personality & His Role for the Muslims of the Subcontinent”. This seminar aims to highlight the relevance of Sir Syed’s thoughts in today’s political turmoil and ideological antagonistic situation. This will make a way for liberal thinking in students, faculty and civil society.
